Regretsy

So, wait, you guys. I wasn't going to post anything about this because I don't want to be that girl that makes fun of some one's homemade creations.

but.....I couldn't resist. So, someone came up with this website, Regretsy, that features items that are listed for sell on my fav website, etsy, that as Regretsy puts it, looks like its made with your feet. There is quite the controversial buzz around the web about it though. It looks a lot like the actual etsy site, and even though it doesn't link to the items on etsy; its easy to type in the given words and find the items and sellers. And well, isn't it mean to make fun of some one's craftiness? These things are getting sold, so apparently, not everyone has the same opinions of the regretsy crew. But I digress, point is, some of it is wack, plain and simple. But, warning, some of it is also really gross, offensive and r rated. So instead, I have a few pics of some of the stuff that people are selling, and if I am not mistaken, that people have bought.

read: "this BEAUTIFUL GOLDEN PAPERCLIP NECKLACE." I don't think I have to say anything else here.

Brittany- you are so getting this mermaid clip for Christmas.
That looks like something I would make.

Never lose your dentures again. Or your keys.

Can you read that small print? It may look harmless; but it is made out of CATERPILLAR FUR.

ING Thursday

Its a slow week this week, so I thought I would steal some ING from my sister.

Watching: my latest recorded episode of "Rachel Zoe Project" (I am bananas over it!)
Eating: homemade chocolate chip cookies (its snack time somewhere, right?)
Listening: Adler banging his dump truck on the floor
Wearing: pajamas (its bed time somewhere, right?)
Reading: "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett (fantastic!)
Feeling: disappointed (in the high today- 93 DEGREES!)
Cleaning: Closets (love me a clean closet)
Wishing: I was at the Canton Flea Market
Smelling: you don't want to know
Paying: for cool weather clothes for the kiddos (why, I don't know as its 93 degrees)
Anticipating: the holiday season
Loving: My kids' juicy lips and cheeks- perfect for kissing!
Humming: "These boots were made for walking.." (that song has been running through my head off and on ever since I was a kid)

How did I do without these things the first time around?

um, eewww

The inflatable neck ring- what's just mean is that there is a ducky over to the side that would be impossible to get to

I seriously may get one of these, better the baby than me, right!

and what's cooler is that its called a daddle

I would be slightly freaked if I saw a baby hanging from the bathroom stall in one of these

because what baby wouldn't be comforted by the feeling of two disembodied hands on him?

because life isn't too funny these days

Funny Pictures
Funny Videos

I thought I needed to inject a bit of humor to my blog today.

Things are fine here- Ad's doing much better- he passed his cold to me so I am waiting around now for some poor sucker with a low immune system to pass this to so I can feel better. Keep your babies away from me; I may not be able to resist.

I'm special.

I think the only award I ever got was in 3rd grade- it was honorable mention at the school field day for the under over ball pass. You know, the event that they stick all the uncoordinated, non-athletic types in where all you have to do is pass the ball under your legs over your head. That one. And it was only an honorable mention.

But now I have a super cool award to add to my list thanks to Sara. She has given me a Blog Award!

It's in Portugese and means, "Blogging makes us close." Thanks Sara- that was sweet of you! When I started blogging, I thought I was doing it just to write down my thoughts and share pictures. But , I have gotten so much more. I have gotten to know a lot of people that I otherwise wouldn't have known, or known well and have really gained so much from reading about other blogger's experiences and perspectives on things. I am going to pass it along to a special blogger that I met through blogging , Laura because that seems appropriate with this award. Thanks for sharing your life through blogging!

six things

I was finally tagged! Thanks, Laura, for making me one of the cool kids.

So here's six things about me you may not know:

1. When I am walking to my car in a parking lot, I have this thing where I have to count my steps. For instance, last night, it was 231 steps from the church back door to my car. I have gotten better about this, but it used to be a real problem.

2. I have to have white noise when I sleep. The only thing is that I hear things in the white noise, like Adler crying or a woman laughing (creepy, right?) which sometimes makes it difficult to sleep. So I have to turn it off to fall asleep and then when I wake up later in the night, I have to turn it back on to fall back asleep. Vicious cycle.

3. I don't like other people's dogs.

4. I have been, well, quite frankly, obsessed with those Amish fiction books. I mean, its ridiculous how many books about Amish people are out there, and how many of them I have read. The thing is, they all have basically the same plot. Amish person has a gift not "sanctioned" by the Ordnug, such as for playing an instrument; Amish person gets shunned; Amish person falls in love and marries "Englisher" and turns Mennonite. I don't know why I am so fascinated but I am!

5. I am 29 years old and I love Fun Dip. Its fun.

6. I have always been jealous of my cousin Laura because when she graduated kindergarden, she got to have a ceremony and a cap and gown. At my kindergarden, we didn't do anything. That was the first time I remember ever being jealous and truly heart-broken and it still stings.

Okay, Here are the rules, Sistas:
1. Link to the person who tagged you
2. Post the rules to your blog
3. Write 6 random things about myself
4. Tag 6 people at the end of your post and link to them
5. Let each person you have tagged know by leaving a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is posted.

Um, I don't have 6 people that haven't already done these things a million times, so I just going to tag Melissa, Laura, and Brittany. But if you want to play, consider yourself tagged! Sorry, I know I am ruining the game. No wonder no one ever tagged me before.

What, you don't know Croatian? And where did you go to school again? Oh, I see. That explains it.

So, I have discovered Google Translate and have absolutely no good reason to use it. Its aggravating really. I want to impress someone.

Biology Lessons

As a rule, I normally do not condone pictures of fuzzy animals, and would never put them on my website. However, I am making an exception this one time.

I found this picture here.

50 things about me

I took this from one of my sister's blog links, Verbing Nouns.

1. What bill do you dislike paying the most? I have always hated paying the phone bill because we rarely use our home phone and the phone company always tacks on a ton of “fees” and “surcharges” that make no sense to me. We got rid of that though, so I guess it would be those pesky student loans.
2. Where was the last place you had a romantic dinner?Outback Steakhouse. Any place these days, whether it be at home or out, where I get to use two hands to eat and don’t have to inhale my entire steak in 2 seconds is romantic.
3. Do you regret your first kiss?Yes.
4. If you could go back and change one thing what would it be ?I would have tried hard in highschool and early college to get good grades so I could have gotten scholarships. (see #1!)
5. Name of your first grade teacher?Mrs. Sullivan
6. What do you really want to be doing right now?shopping or working out at the gym
7. What did you want to be when you were growing up?A teacher.
8. How many colleges did you attend?3- Hinds Community College, Jones Junior College and Belhaven College
9. Why did you choose the shirt that you have on right now?Truthfully, its one of the few shirts I own that fit right.
10. What are your thoughts on gas prices? They're high - but what's the use in complaining. What’s more shocking is that the cost of a gallon of milk is higher than gas right now.
11. If you could move anywhere and take someone with you where would it be?Maybe the mountains, near a beautiful rapid like river- my husband and son of course!
12. First thought when the alarm went off this morning?well, my alarm is my son Adler, and well, I don’t think much that early in the morning!
13. Last thought before going to sleep last night?
I wonder what time my alarm will wake me in the morning.
14. Do you miss being a child?sometimes, but I would rather be right where I am, maybe take away a few years though.
16. What errand/chore do you despise?the floors, for sure, oh, and putting away laundry.
17. If you didn't have to work, would you volunteer?well, if I wasn’t taking care of Adler during the day, I definitely would. I always wanted to rock babies in the hospital nursery.
18. Get up early or sleep-in?I would have used to say get up early, that was before I still was able to sleep in late if I chose too. Now that I have no choice but to get up early, I would DEFINENTLY like to sleep in, at least until 8.
19. What is your favorite cartoon character?gosh, I like the backyardigans- there, I said it.
20. Favorite thing to do at night with a girl/guy?Go out to a nice restaurant with Eric
Go out for drinks with the girls.
21. Have you found real love yet?Absolutely.
22. When did you start feeling old?the first time I said, “Back when I was your age…”
No, I really actually don’t feel old yet. 29 is still “in your 20’s”
24. Your favorite lunch meat?Oven Roasted Turkey
25. What do you get every time you go into Wal-Mart?diapers
26. Ocean or lake?Ocean
27. Do you think marriage is an outdated ritual?no
28. Do you own real estate?yes
29. Favorite guilty pleasure?original Coca Cola
30. Favorite movie you wouldn't want anyone to find out about?Well, I am not really embarrassed by any movie, but I guess if I had to choose it would be Clueless.
31. What's your drink?Pinot Noir
32. Cowboys or Indians?Cowboys
33. Cops or Robbers?cops
34. Who from high school would you like to run in to?Maggie Davis
35. What radio station is your car radio tuned to right now?the local pop station, Y101
36. Norm or Cliff?I guess Cliff - not really sure though.
37. Grey's Anatomy or 'The Office?Grey’s Anatomy
38. Worst relationship mistake that you wish you could take back?I was careless with someone’s heart, as he put it. I learned a lot from that relationship.
39. Do you like the person that sits directly across from you at work?I guess- I really don’t work here enough to form opinions.
40. What famous person would you like to have dinner with?Georgie Peorgie Clooney
41. Indoors or Outdoors?Outdoors - as long as it is pretty and there are no mosquitos and I have a good book.
42. Have you ever crashed your vehicle?yes
43. Have you ever had to use a fire extinguisher for its intended purpose?yes, I am sort of hazardous in the kitchen.
44. Last book you read?My Antonia, by Willa Cather.
45. Do you have a teddy bear?No
46. Strangest place you have ever brushed your teeth?I guess driving down the road in my car
47. Somewhere in California you've never been and would like to go?Well, I've never been to California - so I'd like to go to a lot of it.
48. Do you go to church?yes, the same church I grew up in
49. At this point in your life would you rather start a new career or a new relationship?I wouldn’t mind starting a new career once my children are in grade school
50. How long have you been out of school?I finished my Bachelor's degree in May of '06, so not long!

oooh, I can't wait to see this!

Thanks Dad for showing me this preview. Yay for Titanic II.

As a side note, my sister recently told me that the first Titanic changed her life. She was in school and seriously considered changing her major to theater. She also saw it in the theater 6 times. If you know my sister, I know you think this is as funny as I did.

When Toys Attack

Check out this article, "Very Bad Toys" about recent and past toy recalls. Too funny. And scary. I particularly liked the child eating cabbage patch kids...
