THREE!

Happy Birthday Adler!! At this exact moment 3 years ago, you were a whole 15 minutes old and your daddy and I were looking over all of your parts- 10 fingers, 10 toes and lots and lots of chubby rolls!

We have been in awe of you ever since! Gosh, the last 6 months with you have been so much fun. You figured out the whole communicating thing pretty quickly shortly after you turned two and I don’t think you have slowed to catch your breath since! You have SO MUCH personality. You are funny and silly and loud and rambunctious. You have the wildest imagination; you are always a monster or a pirate or an “American hero” or anything that is loud. When I come into your room to wake you in the morning, you literally “GRRROOOWWLLLL” at me as loud as you can. And that is how we begin and end our days- growls, roars, shrieks, and Indian yells, all things boy.

But you have remained gentle and sweet, somehow. Your new thing, and you do it all the time to the point that I think it is so much a habit you don’t even realize you are saying it, is that you say, “Momma, guess who I love?” I say, “Who” and you yell, “YOU!!” You have this need to cuddle at least 30 minutes out of the day still with me. You still have these baby tendencies, and although some say you look like a little boy, to me, I still see so much of that baby I brought home 3 years ago.

I thought I would be sad about you getting bigger, that I would want you to be a baby forever. But I am EXCITED about the little boy I am getting to know. You are such a joy and I can’t wait to see what this fourth year brings!!
