We're out

Going out of town for a few days, will be back soon!

On another note, we are waiting until Ad gets out of preschool today to leave. Today Ad is having his fall festival. I asked on Wedn. whether or not we should just come at 9:30 when it starts or did I need to bring him in at regular time. His teacher told me to just bring him on in at regular time for roll and their morning stuff they do. So I brought him in, but I don't have to be there until 9:30, so I am here at the library just waiting for 30 minutes. I probably wouldn't even worry about going if it didn't specifically say "for families" in the calender. I hate to think of Ad running around without a mom there to play with. But that's not all. The teacher said his "part" of the festival is just from 9:30-10 (which confuses me even more as my idea of a fall festival is just a little carnival kind of party). I asked if he is supposed to stay the rest of the morning or if we left after that. She said it didn't matter, whatever I chose to do. I am so confused! I am one of those people that likes to know ahead of time exactly what it is that I am supposed to do, and when and where and how. I hate asking all these questions, but I don't feel like I am getting enough info here. Am I am the only one or is this just the norm with schools?

Most of the time (or at least in my experience) the teachers send out a note with all of the details. Of course, I am the room mother for Addison's class, so I usually know what's going on. Hope he has a good time.

Everitt's school has the festival thing next week with a combo halloween party. All my pre-school experiences...usually there is a set time for the festival or party and the rest of the day is as normal. Most kids go home with mom after the party is over, but the few that stay, usually not the first child in the family( yes after one you need all the time you can get) continue the day into car-pool time. Also if anything is going on no matter how "no Big deal" it gets talked down a parent usually comes. You even can ask to help with picture day and things like that as well. Teachers seldom want to give out all the details so a room mom is a must. Find out who it is..if there is not one, ask to be the mom who e-mails the details for the events so all the mom's who like you would like to know more info. Welcome to the world of constant chaos. I found out today that I have to bake giant cookies for them to decorate for the party today. Thank you God for a week notice! When McKaylin was little I found out a day ahead:0 Have a fun year and hope the festival was fun !!

You are not the only one who likes to know all the details. I'm heading up Rebecca's fall party this Thursday, and her teacher is being like "whatever you want to do." So, I'm going to wing it! They are two--as long as I sugar them up and play a game with them, they will be happy.
